Police Beat

Following is a partial listing of calls received by the Chadron Police Department from Monday, June 4 through Sunday, June 10.

Monday, June 4

11:47 a.m. Caller from the Chadron area advised a man by the name of Louis was an illegal alien and using her brother’s Social Security number as identification. Caller refused to give her name, could not provide an address where Louis was living at but supposedly is here in Chadron. Caller gave the name of Louis’ girlfriend but did not know where she lived either. Caller stated she believed Louis and girlfriend moved to Chadron from the Gordon area. Caller stated she would call back with more information if she could find out where Louis is living in Chadron.

5:51 p.m. Caller from Pony Park requested an officer at the above location referencing a break in that happened last night. Caller advised she thought someone broke into her trailer through her bedroom window, turned on the faucet in the kitchen and exited through the back door. Caller advised she and her roommate were home at the time, she was just afraid to call because she thought it might be related to a custody battle.

Tuesday, June 5

8:10 a.m. Caller from the 800 block of Shelton St. advised there was a male subject near the fire escape on the north side of the above location. Caller advised he had a bunch of clothes that he had lying on the ground in front of him. Caller called back at 8:54 a.m. and advised the same subject from previous complaint is back and has just urinated on the church and now is attempting to try to get into every door of the building. Caller advised his wife is inside and has locked herself inside.

7:51 p.m. Officer on the 200 block of Chapin St. was approached by several subjects advising their daughter had escaped out the back door of the house. Daughter was found shortly there after safe and sound.

Wednesday, June 6

1:28 p.m. Caller from the 100 block of Belle Fourche Ave. requested to speak to an officer about a hedge trimming problem he was having.

Thursday, June 7

1:20 p.m. Subject came into police department and advised that someone got inside his garage and stole some beer, pop and it looks like they tried to steal his truck. Subject requesting to talk to an officer.

Friday, June 8

1:44 a.m. Caller on the 1200 Block of W. 10th requested an officer meet him at the above location and give him a ride home. Caller advised he was intoxicated and unable to drive, but couldn’t find his house.

8:20 a.m. Caller on the 100 Block of Bordeaux advised that his girlfriend is refusing to let him into his apartment to get some of his stuff. Caller stated she’s already punched him three times in the face, Caller stated he’s alright and doesn’t need the rescue unit but wouldn’t mind having a police officer stand by and keep the peace.

4:54 p.m. Rescue unit needed at Armstrong Building for 16-year old male, barely conscious, breathing, possible ruptured spleen.

7:09 p.m. Caller on the 200 Block of Chadron advised that some subjects had been calling him names and saying naughty words.

Saturday, June 9

12:08 p.m. Caller advised as she was taking the trash out she noticed a bike in the trash can. Caller stated it looks to be in good shape so she took it out and put it in her garage. Caller stated it looks like a 10 speed. Requesting an officer come get it just in case it was stolen.

12:34 p.m. Caller on Highway 20 advised they are camping at the Grable Ponds at Fort Robinson and there is a crazy person harassing them. Caller stated he keeps speeding by in his car yelling at them. Caller stated she thinks he’s smoking marijuana. Caller stated her kids are scared to death and she’s afraid he’ll be back. Caller requesting assistance.

Sunday, June 10

11:55 a.m. Caller on the 100 Block of Maple advised he just wanted to let the officers know he’s going to start his truck in a little while because he wants to cruise around town. Caller stated the reason why he’s calling is because someone in his neighborhood calls the police every time he starts it so he just wanted it on record as to what he was doing and why.
