CSC graduates sign teaching contracts

Approximately 30 graduates of Chadron State College during the 2007-08 school year have reported to the Internship and Career Services Office at CSC that they have signed teaching contracts for this fall.

Janet Hartman, who compiles the information on CSC graduates, said, as usual, the office received numerous inquiries from schools in the region with teaching vacancies. She said the demand is especially high for graduates with certification in math, science and special education.

The graduates, their hometowns and teaching positions follow:

Maggie Adams of Harrison, science at Mitchell High; Sharon Bannister of Kiowa, Colo., music at the Garden County Schools in Oshkosh; Julie Christiensen of Gillette, Wyo., first grade at Lakeview Elementary in Gillette; Nolan Collins of Sutherland, fifth grade at Cody Elementary in North Platte; Ashley Coupens of Alliance, kindergarten at Grandview Elementary in Alliance; Kelsi Devall of Bassett, second grade at Ewing; Jennifer Fenster of Buffalo, Wyo., elementary at Big Piney, Wyo.; Kendra Foos of Torrington, special education at Gering; DeAnn Gaddis of Ulysses, Kan., pre-school at Johnson City, Kan.; Kinley Hadden of Bridgeport, English at Sidney; Josh Jackson of Torrington, sixth grade at Torrington; Cassandra Kubes of North Platte, second grade at North Platte; Shelly Langemeier of Alliance, kindergarten at Emerson Elementary in Alliance; Audra Liebig of North Platte, kindergarten at Lander, Wyo.; Lacy Lingelbach of Lusk, fifth grade at Lusk; Zach Malcolm of Bushnell, health and physical education at Garden County High in Oshkosh; James Miller of Gering, fifth grade at Geil Elementary in Gering; Kristin Moore of Rushville, kindergarten at Kenwood Elementary in Chadron; Abigail Mowry of Riverton, Wyo., fourth grade at Longfellow School in Scottsbluff; Nichole Neal Mumm of North Platte, middle school English in Sidney; Jeff Palmer of Rushville, social science at Bennett County School in Martin, S.D.; Nicole Penning of Black Hawk, S.D., special education at Dakota Middle School in Rapid City; Sarah Placek of St. Paul, physics and chemistry at Garden City, Kan.; Lisa Quintanar of Minatare, elementary school at Minatare; Robert Reece of Gering, science at Mitchell High; Misty Shimp of Bayard, kindergarten at Lincoln Heights School in Scottsbluff; Allison Smith of Gering, second grade at Cedar Canyon School at Gering; and John Strand of Imperial, math at Loganview High at Hooper.
