Police Beat

This is a selection of calls answered by the Chadron Police Department between Nov. 3-6. *RP means “reporting party.”

Nov. 6

9:30 a.m. n RP advised he lives south of Pine Ridge on Slim Buttes Road and was on his way to the reservation to wait out the storm and has now gotten stuck in the middle of the road. RP stated he’s probably about 13 miles south and would like Pine Ridge PD called to have them send out a tow truck. RP stated he also has two kids in the car with him.

12:46 p.m. n Arrested a 54-year-old man on a Dawes County warrant in the 200 block of Mears Street.

8:03 p.m. n RP advised there was a power line down in the alley in the 100 block of North Morehead Street.

Nov. 5

5:27 a.m. n RP advised a male subject was in the 800 block of Morehead being seen as a result of an assault.

4:17 p.m. n RP advised that her house in the 400 block of Ann Street was hazy like smoke. None of the electricity worked except the refrigerator and it smelled like a burning motor.

9:08 p.m. n Received several calls advising that Highway 385 was very bad. Was advised the snow plows were out and they would get it as soon as they could. This RP advised there were five semi trucks stuck on the hill. Advised Scottsbluff dispatch.

11:23 p.m. n Highway 385 will be closed southbound due to the bad roads and a semi jackknifed at mile marker 147.

Nov. 4

7:18 a.m. n RP requested an officer in reference to someone being in the cemetery last night and doing a lot of damage.

Nov. 3

8:24 a.m. n RP advised his neighbors had a party last night and someone that attended the party had torn down a small fence that was between their property. RP stated he tried going over this morning but couldn’t get anyone to answer the door. RP requesting to talk to an officer.

3:41 p.m. n RP advised there are at least four juveniles jumping off the curb onto Maple Street in the 800 block. RP stated the oldest looks like he’s 5-years-old. RP stated they are unsupervised and thinks an officer needs to drive by and check on them.

4:15 p.m. n RP advised there is a little boy walking southbound north of the railroad tracks on Pine Street.
