    Author Poe Ballantine will be at the library Saturday, April 27, at 2:30 p.m. Ballantine is a fiction and nonfiction writer known for his novels and essays, many of which have appeared in The Sun. His second novel, "Decline of the Lawrence Welk Empire", won Foreword Magazine’s Book of the Year.

      The public is invited to attend a dual canine presentation at the Dawes County Museum on Sunday, April 28, beginning at 2 p.m.

        Next week will see the 2024 Chadron Festival of Quilts, at the Dawes County Fairgrounds, April 26-28. The festival, featuring a theme of "Disappearing Blocks - It's All About The Cut" this year, will be open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Friday, April 26 and Saturday, April 27, and from 12-4 p.m.…
